1. What We Collect

When you use GitProbe, we collect:

  • GitHub repository data — owner, repo name, star counts, and stargazer profiles fetched from the public GitHub API to perform analysis.
  • IP address — used only for rate limiting (5 free checks per 24 hours). Not stored beyond the rate-limit window (24 hours).
  • GitHub OAuth profile — if you sign in, we store your GitHub user ID, username, and avatar URL in a session cookie (30-day expiry) to provide 20 checks per day.

We do not collect email addresses, passwords, or payment information.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Analysis results are cached for 24 hours in Cloudflare KV to reduce API calls and improve response times.
  • GitHub user profile data used in analysis is cached for 7 days to reduce GitHub API usage.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize any data we collect.
  • We do not use your data for advertising or tracking.

3. Third-Party Services

  • GitHub API — used to fetch repository and user data. Subject to GitHub's Privacy Statement.
  • Google Gemini API — analysis text is generated using Gemini 2.0 Flash. Repository metadata (scores and statistics) is sent to Google. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare — we host on Cloudflare Pages and use Cloudflare KV for caching. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies

We set one cookie if you sign in with GitHub: a session cookie containing a random session token. This cookie is HttpOnly, Secure, and expires after 30 days. We do not use tracking or analytics cookies.

5. Terms of Use

  • GitProbe is provided as-is with no warranty of accuracy. Analysis results are probabilistic estimates, not definitive proof of fraud.
  • Do not use GitProbe to harass, defame, or make false accusations against repository maintainers.
  • Automated bulk analysis or scraping of this service is prohibited.
  • We reserve the right to suspend access for abuse.

6. Data Deletion

Cached analysis data auto-expires within 24 hours. Session data expires within 30 days. If you want your session removed immediately, clear your browser cookies. To request deletion of any cached analysis associated with a repository you own, contact us at the address below.
